Overview

This article is about setting up custom record types for Listings.

Caution: Some orgs may have renamed Listing to Assignment. For simplicity, this article refers to all as Listing.

This article is for Apto Administrators - users that have the Customize Application permission and the ability to view the Settings tab.

Out of the box, Apto is built to process four types of transactions:

  1. Seller Representation

  2. Buyer Representation

  3. Landlord Representation

  4. Tenant Representation

Sometimes, it makes sense to add additional record types. Record Types are helpful for a few reasons.

  1. The page layout for a record can change based on the record type, so a different type of transaction can have a different set of fields and related objects visible.

  2. The picklist values can change based on the record type, so custom record types can have different values inside of a picklist.

  3. The record types determine where Listings show up in the Listing Search.

  4. The custom record types can be used to convert to different Project or Comp record types.

Listing Conversion - Field Mapping (Separate Article)

The Settings | Pipeline Conversion page controls whether Listings are converted to Projects or Comps. Based on those settings, here are the default fields that are mapped.

Caution: Some orgs may have renamed Listing to Assignment. For simplicity, this article refers to all as Listing.
